Kathryn Reid Land is a proud candidate for Third Circuit Judge, Group 3.
The Third Circuit encompasses seven counties: Columbia, Dixie, Hamilton, Lafayette, Madison, Suwannee and Taylor.
The focus of Katy’s legal career has been in the area of criminal prosecution, having worked in that area for over a decade. Katy is now humbly asking this community for your support in her candidacy for Circuit Court Judge.

Background
Katy is a proud 5th generation native to the Third Circuit, she grew up in both Hamilton and Suwannee counties. Her husband, Travis Land, also has extensive roots in this area, and both are dedicated members of this community. Katy and Travis feel extremely blessed to have both come from such firm roots in the Third Circuit and words cannot express the pride they have in this community.
Education
After graduating from Florida State University with a bachelors degree in English Literature in 2006, Katy went to law school in Jacksonville.
Family
Katy and Travis are proud parents to three children, Jack, Dylan and Tyler Land. They enjoy teaching them the life lessons that were passed to them and work diligently to instill in them the same core values of hard work, community service and humbleness that their families passed on to them.
Katy and Travis are active members in their community, and their children have followed in their footsteps and attend public school, participate in county based youth recreation programs and attend church regularly.
Work Experience
Professionally, Katy has been an Assistant State Attorney for over 12 years. She has prosecuted thousands of cases, both misdemeanor and felony offenses. Katy has had over fifty jury trials including several guilty verdicts for homicides, sexual batteries, child molestation, theft and property crimes and domestic violence cases. During her legal career, Katy has had the opportunity to practice law in every courthouse in the Third Circuit and has had the pleasure of appearing in front of 17 judges, both Circuit and County from this Circuit alone.
Qualifications
Katys qualifications as a trial attorney and being trained extensively in the rules of evidence have prepared her to rule on complex legal and evidentiary issues. Katys life experiences, especially her upbringing, has given her the ability to understand issues unique to our area. As a prosecutor Katy has had to make some really tough decisions, but through it all she has always believed that each person should feel that their voices were heard and most importantly, everyone should be treated with respect.

After graduating from Florida State University with a bachelors degree in English Literature in 2006, Katy went to law school in Jacksonville. She immediately began her career with the State Attorney’s Office. Katy’s husband, Travis, also graduated from FSU with a degree in finance and real estate and has worked in the areas of banking, real estate, and fuels sales all throughout rural North Florida and South Georgia.
